“Infiltrative Tutoring: Using Creative Writing Strategies to Elicit Self-Reflection from Secretive Writers”

This workshop helped participants learn to transfer creative writing methods and feedback practices to the context of the writing center by providing a codebook of creative writing tutoring strategies. The techniques and advice within could be used while tutoring hesitant writers on a variety of assignment types, but this workshop’s primary focus will be on strategies to help writers self-reflect and critically analyze their responses to reflective writing assignments. Participants also had the opportunity to put these strategies into practice by conducting a little espionage during the session.
